About Me:
Hello all,

Ever since I first got online back in the 80’s, Ive beenhooked on the nuances of securing data as it travels back and forth.
I know, you’re saying “Geek”. Its ok, I can take it.
I started out with a Commodore 64 with a 300 baud modem. Being online meant posting to BBS’es.
So, as I approach retirement from my Civil Service job in California, I asked myself what I could do to supplement my meager retirement check. Why not use what I know about computer security to make a little extra money I thought.
So SpywareBiz was born.
It amazed me, becoming a businessperson online. I quickly found I needed to change
the way I participated, as a online user. My view was always that the Internet exists for sharing information, and it does that quite well. In some cases, too well. But Online
business is its own ecosystem. I quickly realized that to sell something online, you have to give something back.
There are millions of websites, some with pics of who a person is, or even video of a person, out there for us to view. But what we crave is the writing, the sharing of words, thats the reason for deciding if we want to have a relationship of any kind with other users. So I began participating in chats and forums and other help sites. The
satisfaction of helping is just as good, if not better in some cases than making the all important sale.
So here I am, a Father of 3 sons. One is in Afghanistan as a Air Force Medic. One is Mentally Disabled and who in many ways, keeps me young. Diane, my wife of 25 years, died unexpectedly in her sleep at the age of 44. I was given another chance to
participate in the joys of life when I met Wendy in a grief chat room, and she and I later married.
Take care,

Doug
